9 Orange Street, Nantucket, MA
Research indicates that this house was built prior to the Declaration of Independence (circa 1774). It is steeped in Nantucket history and has been in the current family's ownership for over 100 years. The house has many antique elements including a central chimney. Although not usable today there were multiple fireplaces on each floor and one in the attic. The two staircases lead to original detail on every floor. The next steward of this house will appreciate the fact that is set back from the road but still has incredible proximity to Main Street.
First Floor: Living room, dining room, kitchen with pantry, den, and shower bath. There is a mud room off the kitchen to the back yard.
Second Floor: There are 2 staircases to the second floor. The back stairs lease to a bedroom, the front leads to 2 other bedrooms and the 4th bedroom is accessed through a bedroom.
Third Floor: The attic is unfinished but has a walled off area for the "maids room" which has access to the chimney
